Purchasing a permit with a mobile phone

When you call the permit number and follow the instructions you will be sent a text message containing your fishing permit. The call must be made from a Finnish mobile subscription. A prepaid subscription may be used if it has enough balance to pay for the permit. Calling from an unknown or private number is not possible. If you try to call from a private or unknown number, you will receive the following message in Finnish: "Soititte tuntemattomasta numerosta. Poistakaa numeroesto ja soittakaa uudelleen, kiitos." ("You have called from an unknown number. Please unblock your number and call again, thank you.")

Please note that mobile permit purchases are limited to 100 euros a month and to 2 purchases per day per mobile phone plan.

Instructions

1. Check the number of the permit area

You can find the number of your chosen fishing destination along with more information on the area and the terms of the permit on the www.eraluvat.fi website. The same information may be found on info boards in the terrain. Please write down the number of your permit area.
Example: 7510 Lake Peurajärvi

2. Call the number for the permit you want

Licence types, phone numbers and prices are listed on the fishing destination page.

3. Course of the call

Stage 1
Voice message: "Näppäile kalastusalueen numero neljällä numerolla." ("Enter the four digit number of the fishing destination.")
Example: 7510 (Lake Peurajärvi)
If you make the call from an unknown or private number, you will hear the following message: "Soititte tuntemattomasta numerosta. Poistakaa numeroesto ja soittakaa uudelleen, kiitos." ("You have called from an unknown number. Please unblock your number and call again, thank you.")

Stage 2
Voice message: "Tämän palvelun hinta on [X] euroa. Kiitos soitostanne, kuulemiin." ("The cost of this service is [X] euros. Thank you for your call, goodbye.")
You can end the call after hearing this message. The price varies depending on the licence type.

Stage 3
After the call you will receive a text message that asks you to reply to it with your own name.

Stage 4
Wait a moment and you will receive a second text message that now contains your name and the most important licence terms. This is the permit itself. The validity period of the permit begins immediately as you receive this second text message.

Mobile phone permit cannot be purchased beforehand to be used at a later date. The date of the mobile phone permit cannot be changed and the mobile permit cannot be cancelled. Your call is charged on your mobile phone invoice. A mobile charge will be added to the price of the permit (1-3 cents).

Please keep the permit message saved throughout the permit's validity period. You are obligated to present the permit to a supervising authority if requested to do so. Please familiarise yourself with the fishing guidelines and regulations in effect at your chosen fishing destination.
