Sun Mar 15 14:27:00 2020

News item updated on 27 March 2020.

Metsähallitus will close its nature centres, visitor centres and service points, as well as Science Centre Pilke for the time being to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Matters related to permits are handled in Eräluvat web store and from our service number + 358 20 69 2424.

Hunters and fishermen are already accustomed to purchasing their wilderness permits online. More than 90 per cent of the permit purchases can be made in the Eräluvat web store. This service will continue to be available for the period that precautions are in place due to coronavirus. Our service number will also be available on weekdays 9-16 at +358 (0)20 69 2424. You can call the service number if you wish to purchase permits or ask for advice.

Fishermen have become accustomed to purchasing their permits at many of Metsähallitus’ fishing sites, for example at a nature centre’s customer service desk or from a partnering entrepreneur. Customers should into account that while service points are closed, this may not be possible. In fact, it is a good idea to purchase permits well in advance, either online or by phone.

Permits for hunting willow grouse in Northern Lapland are not available after 24 March 2020.

Bookings for reservable and rental huts handled by Metsähallitus Parks & Wildlife Finland will be cancelled as of 21 March 2020. Read more >

Although customer services and guidance will be suspended for the time being at Metsähallitus’ nature centres, visitor centres, and other customer service points, our online, social media and telephone services will continue to be available. Metsähallitus partner companies provide services at some of our nature and visitor centres. We will be discussing the continuation of these services.
