A hunting location in the area of the city of Nurmes, bordering the Kainuu province from the north and east. There are hills, rivers, lakes, fens, drained mires and open mires in the area. The area is mostly in commercial forest use, but there are also more untouched areas. All large predators are regularly found in the area. Finnish forest reindeer are occasionally found in the hunting area.
The hunting area includes Nature Conservation Areas where hunting is restricted. For more information, see the section "Keep in mind in this area" on this page.

The wording of the terms is clarified, and the new structure better reflects the customer journey in the Eräluvat.fi service. The terms also specify how and where customers can place an order, how they benefit from logging in during the ordering process, and whom to contact in case of problems or changes.
There are hunting restrictions in this permit area.
The hunting area includes Mujejärvi, Mustinvaara and Salmijärvi Nature Conservation Areas. In these areas, hunting is restricted in terms of game species and hunting seasons.
Also, the small predator permit includes restrictions on keeping a dog off-leash.
Check the restrictions carefully in the permit terms and on the area map.
All large predators are regularly found in the area. Also, the Finnish forest reindeer are occasionally found in the hunting area.
Bridge repair and demolition work is being carried out within the permit area. These works affect access and traffic within the area.
Viekijoki Bridge, Mustinpurontie: The bridge has been demolished.
Jokilamminpää Culvert Bridge, Purtokankaantie: The bridge will be demolished during 2026.
Mustinjoki Culvert Bridge, Tolkeentie: The bridge will be under repair from 15 May to 30 September 2026. Traffic is diverted via the Jäniksenkangas–Heinävaara roads.
