There are hunting restrictions in this permit area.

• The hunting area includes the Paistinvaara, Murtovaara and Kuoppasuo Nature Conservation Areas (140/2021 Finnish Government Decree on the nature reserves of the province of North Karelia). In these areas, hunting is restricted in terms of game species and hunting seasons.

• Please note, that beaver hunting is limited in the permit area and waterfowl hunting is prohibited in lakes Iso-Valkeinen and Urtti Valkeinen, which are part of the Peurajärvi fishing area.

• Also, the small predator permit includes restrictions on keeping a dog off-leash.

Check the restrictions carefully in the permit terms and on the area map.

All large carnivores are regularly found in the area. Forest reindeer also occur in the area from time to time.

Changes to Traffic and Access Within the Permit Area

Bridge repair work is being carried out within the permit area. The repair work affects access and traffic within the area.

• Saunakoski Bridge, Peurajärventie: The bridge will be under repair from 15 May to 30 September 2026.
