Accessibility statement

Metsähallitus makes every effort to ensure that the online service complies with the Act on the Provision of Digital Services 306/2019 (finlex.fi) in terms of its accessibility.

This accessibility statement applies to the Eräluvat.fi online service and the Eräluvat application. Both were launched on 19 November 2024.

Accessibility status

The Eräluvat application partially meets the level 2.1 AA criteria of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and the Eräluvat.fi online service meets these criteria nearly in full. Non-compliance and/or exceptions to the criteria are explained below.

Non-accessible content in the Eräluvat.fi online service

The content mentioned below cannot be accessed for the following reasons: Failure to comply with the Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019). The shortcoming mentioned below will be rectified by 30 November 2025.

  • Instructions for form elements: Instructions for buttons appearing on forms are only shown below the buttons in some places. (WCAG 1.3.2)

Observations on the accessibility of content and files

  • Videos: Some videos lack audio description or text equivalent. However, videos can be viewed as an alternative presentation format for text on the page. (WCAG 1.2.1)
  • PDF forms: The application form for a small game season permit on the page Grouse permit is not accessible. The form is intended for printing only, i.e. it is filled out manually. The electronic application form, on the other hand, is accessible. (WCAG 1.3.1)
  • PDF files: The greeting cards (available only in Finnish) are not accessible. However, the greeting text on them can be read on the page. Also, signed quota decisions (available only in Finnish) cannot currently be published in an accessible format. (WCAG 1.3.1)

Non-accessible content in the Eräluvat application

The content mentioned below cannot be accessed for the following reasons: Failure to comply with the Act on the Provision of Digital Services (306/2019). The shortcomings mentioned below will be rectified by 30 November 2025.

Visuality

  • The contrast of the buttons for map use is not sufficient in all places. (WCAG 1.4.11)

Structure

  • Not all elements related to map use have been indicated programmatically.  (WCAG 4.1.2)
  • The status of the element is not always communicated to the screen reader (selected/not selected). (WCAG 4.1.2)
  • The app cannot be used on iOS with a keyboard. (WCAG 2.1.1, 2.4.3. 2.4.7)
  • Sub-navigation is not indicated programmatically. (WCAG 1.3.1)

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was drawn up on 11 November 2024. The original statement is based on an evaluation carried out by an external expert organisation and is updated by the service provider.

The statement was last revised on 23 July 2025.

If you are not satisfied with the response or you receive no response within two weeks, please send your feedback to Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom.
