Metsähallitus collaborates with a variety of entrepreneurs. State lands and waters offer opportunities for professional fishermen, nature tourism entrepreneurs, fishing guides, and safari companies. Business activities on state lands generally require a permit or agreement.
Commercial fishing
State waters enable professional fishing in most parts of Finland. Commercial fishing permits and lease agreements are granted for five years at a time.
Nature tourism
Nature tourism entrepreneurs often utilize recreational structures, such as campfire sites and lean-to shelters. Here, you can manage the usage fee for service structures.
Safaris
Organizing a snowmobile safari on state lands always requires separate approval. Additionally, the company must take care of the safari-specific off-road traffic permit, i.e., make a safari notification.
Fishing tourism
Fishing guides can utilize state lands in their tourism activities.
Becoming a permit seller?
A company can enter into an agreement with Metsähallitus' Wildlife Services to sell wilderness permits and fisheries management fees to its customers. For more information, contact: eraluvat@metsa.fi.
