The Toivakka hunting area is a good option for those looking for hunting opportunities near Jyväskylä. The area is easily accessible and suitable as a refreshing hunting destination after a working day. The Toivakka locations consists of six areas of different sizes, the southernmost area of which borders the Leivonmäki National Park. The hunting area mainly consists of multi-use forests dedicated to forestry use.
There have been changes to the permit area in August 2025. Also, the hunting of black grouse during lek season is limited in the permit area. For more information, see the section "Keep in mind in this area" on this page.

The wording of the terms is clarified, and the new structure better reflects the customer journey in the Eräluvat.fi service. The terms also specify how and where customers can place an order, how they benefit from logging in during the ordering process, and whom to contact in case of problems or changes.
Hunting black grouse during lek season is limited in the permit area. The hunting restriction applies only to the most significant lek areas. The Katajaneva mire area has been protected from hunting in the lek season. Black grouse hunting is prohibited in this area during the entire hunting season in the mornings between 5:00 and 10:00. However, hunting for other game is allowed. The restricted area is marked on the map of the permit area.
The small predator permit includes restrictions on keeping a dog off-leash.
There have been changes to the permit area in August 2025. A small area between Muuratvuori and Iso-Kankainen has been removed from the permit area. The area is marked on the PDF map.
