The Muuratjärvi hunting area is a good option for those looking for hunting opportunities near Jyväskylä. Muuratjärvi is a short drive from the city and is suitable as a hunting ground after a working day, for example. The several separate areas of Muuratjärvi are well-suited for hunting hare. A skilled hunter can catch a hazel grouse from the side of the stream and from the forest along the shore of the pond. In the area, there are both multi-use forests utilised by forestry and areas set aside for conservation.
