Kukkaro-Lakla is a hunting location consisting of two different areas. The area's landscape includes hills, small rivers and lakes, fens, drained mires and small open marshes. The area is mostly commercial forest, but there are also more untouched areas. In terms of the number of hunters, the Kukkaro-Lakla area is the most peaceful of North Karelia's large hunting areas. Small game hunters primarily seek grouse in the area, but the area is also popular with the Canadian beaver hunters. All large predators are regularly found in the area.
