Hirvivaara-Rostua is a quiet hunting area located on the border of North Savo and North Karelia. The hunting area consists of three different areas. The hunting area is mostly used for forestry, and the impact of it can be seen in the area. There are some small open mires in the area. For the most part, the area is characterised by a variation of heaths and drained mires. The south-southeast part of the permit area is more rolling and hilly in terms of terrain and is dotted by small ponds and lakes. There are numerous small rivers and streams in the hunting area.
The hunting area includes Nature Conservation Areas where hunting is restricted. For more information, see the section "Keep in mind in this area" on this page.
There are hunting restrictions in this permit area.
The hunting area includes Vuoripuro and Leiviskänkallio Nature Conservation Areas (140/2021 Finnish Government Decree on the nature reserves of the province of North Karelia). In these areas, hunting is restricted in terms of game species and hunting seasons.
The small predator permit includes restrictions on keeping a dog off-leash.
Check the restrictions carefully in the permit terms and on the area map.
