The permit area of Vikaköngäs is situated in the Arctic Circle Hiking Area, along the E 75 highway, 25 km north of Rovaniemi. The permit area consists of approximately 3 kilometres of the Raudanjoki River downstream from Lake Vikajärvi. The Arctic Circle Hiking Area offers comprehensive services, including hiking trails and campfire sites. A trail connects Vikaköngäs to Vaattunkiköngäs in the south. The area also has accessible hiking structures, such as a fishing pier.
A white-water kayaking course has been built 200 metres upstream of the suspension bridge. This course entails steel pillars on either side of the rapids and steel wires connecting the pillars together. When the course is set up, it makes fishing in the area more difficult.

Not all information on angling permit areas has yet been translated into English and Swedish on the renewed Eräluvat.fi service. For this reason, not all angling permits can yet be purchased as a self-service. However, the permits can be purchased through Eräluvat customer service.
