The Ounasjoki trap permit area includes the water areas managed by Metsähallitus located in the main course of the Ounasjoki River within the Ounasjoki fisheries region.

Targeted catch: Burbot, cyprinids, grayling, perch, pike-perch, rainbow trout, trout, vendace, whitefish
Special features of the area: The latitude line 67°00’N passes through the permit area – fishers must take this into account.
Restrictions: In the river and the stream, net fishing is prohibited 15 August–30 November. Check the restrictions carefully in the permit terms.

Trap fishing in this permit area always requires a trap permit. You will also be required to pay the fisheries management fee, unless you are under 18 years of age, over 70 years of age, or are 65 years of age or older as of 31 December 2023.
