Suohpášávžži Kultala / Morgamojan Kultala rental hut is located along the marked trail in the demanding wildernesslike National Park of Lemmenjoki. The hut is not accessible during the thaw. The log cabin, also known as Pellisen kämppä, was built in 1975 in the location of a former cabin that was used by gold prospectors. The hut is situated about 4,5 km northwest of the Lemmenjoki river valley in a ravine by the River Morgamoja, which flows into Lake Morgamjärvi. The hut was renovated in 2017. The same building houses an open wilderness hut, and there is a sauna in the yard.
A rental hut is a place for an overnight stay that can be rented for only your use.
Creating a user account is worthwhile. As a logged-in customer, you do not need to pay for your reservation immediately. You can also cancel unpaid reservations yourself. Create a user account.
Tip: If you reserve huts for multiple trips, make separate orders for each trip. This way, you can choose to pay for each trip's reservation only 14 days before the start of the reservation.

The reservation day for shared rental huts and rental huts begins at 2 pm and ends at 12 noon.

A foreign company can place an order in the company's name only as an unregistered customer.

The road to Njurkulahti and Lemmenjoki National Park (road 9551) turns off road 955 (Inari - Kittilä). You can get all the way to the village of Njurkulahti by car, but from there you must continue along the bank of the River Lemmenjoki and along marked trails towards the hut by foot or on skis. It is about 26 km from Njurkulahti to the hut.
During summer there is also boat transportation from Njurkulahti to Kultahamina from where it is about 4,5 km to the rental hut.

Sauna, campfire site and dry toilet.
You can camp by the campfire site.
The key is in a key code box on the hut wall. The box is protected with a code. Instructions and the code are sent to you by e-mail after the payment.
Take lock de-icer with you just in case the box's lid is stuck due to frost. Metsähallitus does not have maintenance on site.
NOTE: For reservations in 2025, keys must still be collected from the entrepreneur. Starting from 2026, the keys will be in a key box at the hut. Instructions for the key box will be sent by email after the reservation payment has been completed.
The key can be picked up at Lemmenjoen lomamajat Oy Ahkuntupa (ahkuntupa.fi), Njurkulahti.
A deposit of 20 € must be paid when picking up the key. This will be returned when the key is returned.
The hut has a stove and firewood for heating. Please use firewood sparingly. Please note that it takes some time before the hut is properly warm.
The hut has no electricity. We recommend using a headlamp, which leaves your hands free to do chores around the hut. For safety reasons, candles must be burned on a non-combustible surface and constantly monitored.
Gass stove and tableware.
There is no running water in the hut.
Household water is taken from the river Lemmenjoki. It is recommended to boil water from natural sources before consumption. Water quality is not tested. Drink water taken directly from nature at your own risk.

Bunk beds, mattresses, pillows and quilts.
Please bring your own linen or a sleeping bag.
There is a sauna in a separate building.
There is a dry toilet near the hut. Please bring your own toilet paper.
There are waste containers by the cabin but visitors are advised to take their accumulated waste with them.
Metsähallitus follows the principles of litter-free hiking. Visitors are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Read more about hiking without littering (luontoon.fi).
Please clean the hut before you leave.
Although Finland has a broad network for mobile phones, there are some areas in the park without signal. If this happens try to climb to a higher place or go into an open area. Check the mobile network coverage with your mobile phone operator before your trip.
There are fire alarms at wilderness huts, but we recommend to bring a 9 V battery and/or your own travel fire alarm with you.
