Tip: If you reserve huts for multiple trips, make separate orders for each trip. This way, you can choose to pay for each trip's reservation only 14 days before the start of the reservation.
Ensure a safe trip to the hut. Read the checklist.
The reservation day for shared rental huts and rental huts begins at 2 pm and ends at 12 noon.
Keep the order confirmation of your paid reservation with you. Check the information related to keys in the "Keys" section (located halfway down the page).
By following the hut etiquette, you ensure that the use of hut is smooth. Learn about the hut etiquette (luontoon.fi).
A foreign company can place an order in the company's name only as an unregistered customer.
The use of the hut and other structures for business operations requires a permit from Metsähallitus. Learn about transfer of rights of use (metsa.fi).

The rental hut is situated on the west bank of the River Lemmenjoki at the north end of Lake Ravadasjärvi.
The road to Njurgalahti and Lemmenjoki National Park (road 9551) turns off road 955 (Inari - Kittilä). You can get all the way to the village of Njurgalahti by car, but from there you must continue south towards the hut by foot or on skis. It is a 15 km hike along a marked trail by the bank of the River Lemmenjoki to the rental hut.
During summer there is also regular boat service from Njurgalahti to the rental hut.
Read more about the area and more detailed arrival instructions on Luontoon.fi.
Sauna, dry toilet, campfire site, boat and 4 life vests.
You can camp by the campfire sites.
The key is in a key code box on the hut wall. The box is protected with a code. Instructions and the code are sent to you by e-mail after the payment.
Take lock de-icer with you just in case the box's lid is stuck due to frost. Metsähallitus does not have maintenance on site.
The key can be picked up at Lemmenjoen lomamajat Oy Ahkuntupa (ahkuntupa.fi), Njurgalahti Village.
When picking up the keys visitors must pay a 20 € deposit, which will be returned upon the return of the key.
NOTE! From the beginning of 2026, the keys will be in a key box at the cabin. Instructions for the key box will be sent by email after the reservation payment.
The hut has a fireplace and firewood for heating. Please use firewood sparingly. Please note that it takes some time before the hut is properly warm.
The hut has no electricity. We recommend using a headlamp, which leaves your hands free to do chores around the hut. For safety reasons, candles must be burned on a non-combustible surface and constantly monitored.
A gas stove, tableware and a cellar under the floor.
There is no running water in the hut.
Household water is taken from the river Lemmenjoki. It is recommended to boil water from natural sources before consumption. Water quality is not tested. Drink water taken directly from nature at your own risk.
See tips on how to obtain safe drinking water on a hike (luontoon.fi).
Bunk beds, mattresses, pillows and quilts.
Please bring your own linen or a sleeping bag.
Sauna in the same building.
There is a dry toilet near the hut. Please bring your own toilet paper.
There are waste containers by the cabin but visitors are advised to take their accumulated waste with them.
Metsähallitus follows the principles of litter-free hiking. Visitors are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Read more about hiking without littering (luontoon.fi).
Please clean the hut before you leave.
Although Finland has a broad network for mobile phones, there are some areas in the park without signal. If this happens try to climb to a higher place or go into an open area. Check the mobile network coverage with your mobile phone operator before your trip.
There are fire alarms at wilderness huts, but we recommend to bring a 9 V battery and/or your own travel fire alarm with you.
