Creating a user account is worthwhile. As a logged-in customer, you do not need to pay for your reservation immediately. You can also cancel unpaid reservations yourself. Create a user account.
Tip: If you reserve huts for multiple trips, make separate orders for each trip. This way, you can choose to pay for each trip's reservation only 14 days before the start of the reservation. Changes won't be made to reservations made from May 5, 2025.
The reservation day for shared rental huts, rental huts and other rental structures begins at 2 pm and ends at 12 noon.
Bring along your invoice and proof of payment to the hut.
By following the hut etiquette, you ensure that the use of hut is smooth. Learn about the hut etiquette (luontoon.fi).
A foreign company can place an order in the company's name only as an unregistered customer.
The use of the hut and other structures for business operations requires a permit from Metsähallitus. Learn about transfer of rights of use (metsa.fi).

Every fishing and hunting area and hut has a page with a map window that shows the location of the destination. In case of permit areas, you can see the borders of the area. Did you know that you can choose what and how information is displayed on the map?
The hut yard is not accessible by car. The car must be left at a parking lot located about 600 meters away, and you need to walk from there to the cabin.
From Highway 2 (Helsinki - Pori), take the Kanteluksentie road (road sign "Liesjärvi 8" at the junction, no 13 606). The distance from Forssa to the Kanteluksentie crossroads is 21 km. Drive roughly 5.5 km along Kanteluksentie. Another track (Katavalammintie) turns left from Kanteluksentie. Take this track and drive for some 300 metres, until you reach the information board. You can park your car there.
The foot path to Peukaloinen starts from the board behind the barrier. The distance from the barrier to the hut is roughly 600 metres.
Several express coaches (expressbus.fi) travel daily along Highway 2. The nearest bus stop is located on Highway 2 at the Kyynäräntie junction. The distance from the bus stop to Peukaloinen is some 7 km. The map is needed to find the route.
Read more about the area and more detailed arrival instructions on Nationalparks.fi.
The yard has a toilet, woodshed and campfire site.
The hut grounds are situated in a pine forest and, closer to the pond, the terrain becomes more marshy. Peukalolammi is a mire pool and is not user friendly for swimming. There is no official swimming spot in the area.
No camping is allowed on the hut grounds.
The key is in a key code box on the hut wall. The box is protected with a code. Instructions and the code are sent to you by e-mail after the payment.
Take lock de-icer with you just in case the box's lid is stuck due to frost. Metsähallitus does not have maintenance on site.
The hut has a stove and firewood for heating. Please use firewood sparingly. Please note that it takes some time before the hut is properly warm.
The hut has no electricity. We recommend using a headlamp, which leaves your hands free to do chores around the hut. For safety reasons, candles must be burned on a non-combustible surface and constantly monitored.
A stove, tableware and cooking utensils.
There is no running water in the hut or well in the yard.
The nearest well is at the north end of Kyynäränharju.
A bunk (no matresses, blankets or pillows).
Please bring your own linen or a sleeping bag.
There is a dry toilet near the hut. Please bring your own toilet paper.
There are no waste containers by the cabin. Visitors are advised to take their accumulated waste with them.
Metsähallitus follows the principles of litter-free hiking. Visitors are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Read more about hiking without littering (nationalparks.fi).
There are no accessible services in the hut.
Please clean the hut before you leave.
Although Finland has a broad network for mobile phones, there are some areas in the park without signal. If this happens try to climb to a higher place or go into an open area. Check the mobile network coverage with your mobile phone operator before your trip.
There are fire alarms at wilderness huts, but we recommend to bring a 9 V battery and/or your own travel fire alarm with you.
