Payment options for hut reservations in the Eräluvat.fi service
Eräluvat.fi has been renewed, and also the payment options for hut reservations have been updated. Read more about the options available for private customers and businesses.
Kärnä rental cabin is located near Kärnänkoski in Viitasaari. Kärnänkoski is part of the Kolima–Keitele rapids route, which offers three separate permit areas for diverse fishing experiences. Pyhä-Häkki National Park with its hiking opportunities is about 50 km away. This cabin is popular among anglers.
The rental cabin is an accommodation that is rented out for exclusive use.
Creating a user account is worthwhile. As a logged-in customer, you do not need to pay for your reservation immediately. You can also cancel unpaid reservations yourself. Create a user account.
Tip: If you reserve huts for multiple trips, make separate orders for each trip. This way, you can choose to pay for each trip's reservation only 14 days before the start of the reservation.
The reservation day for shared rental huts, rental huts and other rental structures begins at 2 pm and ends at 12 noon.
Keep the order confirmation of your paid reservation with you. Check the information related to keys in the "Keys" section (located halfway down the page).

A foreign company can place an order in the company's name only as an unregistered customer.
When a company regularly takes its customers to destinations with hiking infrastructure maintained by Metsähallitus, it must have a cooperation agreement. Read more in the information bank for entrepreneurs.

From Viitasaari, drive about 9 km on Highway E75 toward Pihtipudas. Turn onto Road 77 (Keiteleentie). Drive 9.7 km and turn left into the cabin yard.
The cabin can be reached once a day by the Vaasa–Joensuu bus service. Timetable and stop information can be found on Matkahuolto’s website (matkahuolto.fi).
The yard and its buildings are for the exclusive use of the renter.
The key is in a key code box on the site's wall. The box is protected with a code. Instructions and the code are sent to you by e-mail after the payment.
Take lock de-icer with you just in case the box's lid is stuck due to frost. Metsähallitus does not have maintenance on site.
The cabin has a wood-burning stove and firewood for heating. Please use firewood sparingly. Note that warming up the cabin takes time.
The cabin has no electricity. We recommend a headlamp, which keeps your hands free for tasks in the cabin. For safety reasons, always burn candles on a non-flammable surface and never leave them unattended.

There is no running water in the cabin.
Household water can be taken from the nearby river. Natural water should be boiled before use as drinking water. The water quality is not monitored. Using natural water as drinking water is at your own risk.

Two bunk beds, mattresses, blankets, and pillows.
Please bring your own sheets or a sleeping bag.
There is a dry toilet near the site. Please bring your own toilet paper.
There are no waste containers by the site. Visitors are advised to take their accumulated waste with them.
Metsähallitus follows the principles of litter-free hiking. Visitors are adviced to bring their own waste out of the area. Read more about hiking without littering (luontoon.fi).
The cabin does not have accessible services.
Please clean the cabin before you leave.
There may be areas with poor mobile network coverage in the destination. In such cases, moving to higher or more open terrain may help. Check your mobile network coverage with your operator before your trip.
The cabins are equipped with smoke detectors, but we recommend bringing a 9V battery and/or your own portable smoke detector.
