The Vuolijoki permit area is a hunting area consisting of vast mires and commercial forest on the border between Kainuu and North Savo. The hunting area also includes Talaskangas protected area, where you can find old forests in their natural state. There are usually abundant black grouse populations in the area.
There is a wind farm in the western parts of the Vuolijoki hunting area.

The wording of the terms is clarified, and the new structure better reflects the customer journey in the Eräluvat.fi service. The terms also specify how and where customers can place an order, how they benefit from logging in during the ordering process, and whom to contact in case of problems or changes.
There are hunting restrictions in this permit area.
The hunting area includes part of the Rimpineva nature reserve, where hunting is restricted in terms of game species and hunting seasons. In addition, in the Talaskangas Nature Reserve, which is part of Vuolijoki permit area, fires are only allowed at marked campfire sites.
Check the restrictions carefully in the permit terms and on the area map.

As of 2023, local residents exercising their hunting rights no longer need a separate free-of-charge permit from Metsähallitus to hunt in Talaskangas.
