Fishing permit areas renewed: learn about the changes
At the turn of the year, five large angling permit areas were redistributed into 52 new permit areas. In addition, the boundaries of trap fishing permit areas were revised.
The Latokartanonkoski angling permit area is located near the city of Salo, in Kiskonjoki River in Perniö. The permit area stretches out for over half kilometre in a historical, naturally beautiful and partly quite rugged scenery.
The Latokartanonkoski rapids are a rare site in Southern Finland, as fly fishing enthusiast venturing here can hope to catch anything from sea trout and salmon to whitefish.
Latokartanonkoski is a perfect place to combine culture and fishing: try your hand at fly fishing to catch sea trout and salmon and take in the local history along the adjacent nature trail!

The wording of the terms is clarified, and the new structure better reflects the customer journey in the Eräluvat.fi service. The terms also specify how and where customers can place an order, how they benefit from logging in during the ordering process, and whom to contact in case of problems or changes.

On Tuesday, August 19, the final interruption caused by the summer heat ends, as permits for Langinkoski become available again. Only Kärnänkoski on the Kolima–Keitele route remains closed due to restoration work.
The number of anglers is restricted. No more than six persons may fish simultaneously in the Latokartanonkoski permit area. Please check in advance whether permits are available for the desired time period.
In this permit area, you will need an angling permit when lure fishing in sections with rapids and running water. You will also be required to pay the fisheries management fee, unless you are under 18 years of age, over 70 years of age, or are 65 years of age or older as of 31 December 2023.
If you are lure fishing with only one rod and lure in still waters, such as river pools, payment of the fisheries management fee is sufficient.
Hook and line fishing and ice fishing are fully prohibited in running and rapids sections of waters with migratory fish stocks (i.e. also this permit area). In still waters, hook and line fishing and ice fishing are permitted free of charge with one rod.
Please note that the Latokartanonkoski angling permit area practically comprises of flowing water only.
Only fly fishing is allowed in the permit area.

Fishing is prohibited in the side channels below the mill ruins.
There is a spacious parking area and a toilet next to the rapids. There is a great trail network near the rapids.
The rapids have been restored in 2023 and 2024.
The number of natural fry in the river is annually followed by means of electrofishing.
There is a native trout population in Kiskonjoki River. With the aim of protecting the population, it is prohibited to catch trout in this area. The same restriction applies to salmon, which is found in Kiskonjoki River in fewer numbers. The water areas at Latokartanonkoski rapids are not stocked with brown trout, but trout planted elsewhere may occur in the area. The water areas of Kiskonjoki River have been occasionally stocked with salmon.
