The popular Kouva hunting area is located north of the Syöte tourism area. The hilly landscape attracts grouse hunters to the area year after year, and no wonder: it is quite common to find capercaillie and black grouse in the area. Around Syöte there is a wide chain of old forests, which stretches from the southern part of Posio through the northwestern part of Taivalkoski to the northeastern part of Pudasjärvi. It consists of Jaaskamonvaara special protected area and eight old forest areas.

The wording of the terms is clarified, and the new structure better reflects the customer journey in the Eräluvat.fi service. The terms also specify how and where customers can place an order, how they benefit from logging in during the ordering process, and whom to contact in case of problems or changes.
Once the game population surveys have been completed, the Pudasjärvi Game Management Association will issue a recommendation on the personal catch quota for grouse in its area. This recommendation applies to both local and non-local hunters. Metsähallitus asks permit hunters to take the recommendation into account in addition to the catch quota specified in the hunting permit.
