South Pudasjärvi is the second largest of the four permit areas in Pudasjärvi. The area is quieter than Kouva and Syöte, which are in the same direction. The area is largely multiple-use forest in commercial use, as well as fairly hilly. Seasonal permits for hunting grouse are also granted for the area.
Always take reindeer herding into account when hunting with a dog in this area. Please read the instructions under section Reindeer herding on this page.

The wording of the terms is clarified, and the new structure better reflects the customer journey in the Eräluvat.fi service. The terms also specify how and where customers can place an order, how they benefit from logging in during the ordering process, and whom to contact in case of problems or changes.

Once the game population surveys have been completed, the Pudasjärvi Game Management Association will issue a recommendation on the personal catch quota for grouse in its area. This recommendation applies to both local and non-local hunters. Metsähallitus asks permit hunters to take the recommendation into account in addition to the catch quota specified in the hunting permit.

Foreigners can also hunt in state areas. However, there are a few special requirements for hunting in Finland.

Hunting arrangements in northern Finland differ from those in the rest of the country: local residents have the right to hunt freely on state-owned land in their home municipality. In northern Finland, hunters must also ensure that hunting does not cause harm to reindeer.
