Fishing permit areas renewed: learn about the changes
At the turn of the year, five large angling permit areas were redistributed into 52 new permit areas. In addition, the boundaries of trap fishing permit areas were revised.
The Kostonjoki rod fishing area is a joint permit area established by Metsähallitus and four local joint owners’ associations in Taivalkoski. The permit area extends along the Kostonjoki River from Ulmaja Rapids to the River Ii, along the Korpuanjoki River from Lake Kalliojärvi to the Kostonjoki River, and along the Kutinjoki River from Ylimmäinen Pitkäkoski Rapids to the Kostonjoki River. The total length of the area is 35 kilometres. Lake Koitijärvi is not included in the permit area.
A special feature of the permit area is the opportunity for the so‑called "hankikorri (Taeniopteryx nebulosa) fishing” of trout in April between Tyttöinsuvanto and Kaupinkoski.
You can check the real-time temperature of the water in the Kostonjoki River during the snow-free season in the SensorMonitor service (map.sensormonitor.fi).
