The Pielisen Karjala trap permit area includes the state-owned water areas located within the Pielisen-Karjalan fisheries region. The Lake Pielinen is not included in the trap permit area.

Permits needed for fishing

Trap fishing in this permit area always requires a trap permit. You will also be required to pay the fisheries management fee, unless you are under 18 years of age, over 70 years of age, or are 65 years of age or older as of 31 December 2023.

The Pielisen Karjala trap permit only grants fishing rights in waters managed by Metsähallitus, located within the Pielisen-Karjalan fisheries region.
