4021 Iijoki, state-owned waters

The Iijoki trap permit area covers the state-owned water areas listed in the water area directory within the Iijokis fisheries region. The permit area includes approximately 14,500 hectares of water bodies. The Iijoki River (excluding reservoir areas) and other running waters are not included in the trap permit area.

Trap permits for the area: Permit for the whole calendar year
Targeted catch: Burbot, cyprinids, perch, pike, trout, vendace, whitefish

Permits needed for fishing

Trap fishing in this permit area always requires a trap permit. You will also be required to pay the fisheries management fee, unless you are under 18 years of age, over 70 years of age, or are 65 years of age or older as of 31 December 2023.

Lake Kostonjärvi is regulated to meet the needs of hydropower production. The water level in the lake therefore varies according to the season, which is important to keep in mind when moving on the lake.
