The Lestijärvi hunting area offers large, uniform areas, clear-water lakes, wilderness-like landscapes, and versatile hunting opportunities for grouse, hare and waterfowl hunters. Water areas belonging to the area are, for example, in the lakes Iso-Lemmistönjärvi and Lestijärvi. Please pay attention to the built cottage area, especially in connection with hunting for grouse.
Hunting black grouse during lek season is limited in the area. More information available in the “Keep in mind in this area” section.
From 1 May 2022 onwards there will be species-specific restrictions on hunting in nature conservation areas.
There are hunting restrictions in this permit area.
On 6 April 2022, the Finnish Government and the Ministry of the Environment issued a decree on nature conservation areas in the province of Central Ostrobothnia (245/2022 and 246/2022). From 1 May 2022 onwards there will be species-specific restrictions on hunting in nature conservation areas. The nature reserves of Isoneva, Lehtosenjärvi and the upper reaches of Lestijoki river are located in the hunting area (Finnish Government Decree 245/2022 on the nature reserves of the province of Central Ostrobothnia) and the nature reserve of Iso-Ruonanen (Finnish Government Decree 246/2022 on the nature reserves of the province of Central Ostrobothnia). In these areas, hunting is restricted in terms of game species and hunting seasons.
