Small game permits for the 2026–2027 season

Grouse hunting ends in most areas on either 10 October, 10 November or 10 December. However, capercaillie hunting is permitted in January in some permit areas. In the northernmost permit areas, willow grouse may be hunted until 31 March 2027.

A seasonal grouse permit also allows you to hunt other small game (excl. beaver), so these permits are valid until 30 April 2027. Seasonal permits are not available for direct purchase; applications are accepted annually in April.

Waterfowl and hare permits are sold as day permits until 28 February 2027, with some exceptions. Seasonal and partial seasonal permits are available for purchase and valid until 30 April 2027. The sales periods can be found under the Permits tab on the page of each permit area. Species-specific hunting seasons should be checked on the Finnish Wildlife Agency website, riista.fi.

Beaver permits are available until the end of the season, 30 April 2027. The same applies to small predator permits.
