User fee

Companies that conduct one-off (not regular or frequent) activities in area managed by Metsähallitus must pay a user fee of €75 + VAT/day. The maximum group size is 50 persons. The receipt of the user fee must be shown to the authority in the field if requested.

The user fee is day specific and includes the maintenance and servicing of hiking service structures and the use of firewood. Service structures include wilderness huts for daytime use, huts, lean-to shelters, campfire sites, toilets, bridges, piers, marked trails and other hiking structures. The fee does not include waste management, as companies must remove any litter they generate.
