Cooking shelter

The Tittilammi cooking shelter is located in Liesjärvi National Park. The shelter and its surroundings are well-suited as a rest stop for various group excursions or even as a venue for family celebrations.

 Reservations

• Creating a user account is worthwhile. As a logged-in customer, you do not need to pay for your reservation immediately. You can also cancel unpaid reservations yourself. Create a user account.

• Notes for entrepreneurs: When a company regularly takes its customers to destinations with hiking infrastructure maintained by Metsähallitus, it must have a cooperation agreement. Read more in the information bank for entrepreneurs.

• The cooking shelter can be rented for only your use.

• The cooking shelter is intended for day or overnight use (by reservation). Overnight stays inside the shelter are not allowed.

• Only customers who have reserved the shelter for a full 24 hours are permitted to camp overnight in the adjacent accessible tenting area.

• Keep the order confirmation of your paid reservation with you.

Arrival instructions

Driving to the cooking shelter is only permitted for accessible groups or for transporting goods and equipment. There is a locked gate at the beginning of Katavalammintie. The gate can be opened with a key from the key box. The gate must remain closed even during your reservation.

Instructions and the key box code will be sent by email after the reservation payment has been received.

Yard

The accessible reservable cooking shelter is 41 m² in size and accommodates approximately 20–25 people. Next to the shelter, you’ll find an accessible dry toilet, a woodshed, and a storage building.

There is also an accessible tenting area adjacent to the shelter, designed to accommodate up to 20–25 people.

Keys

The keys to the Tittilammi cooking shelter are in a key box located in the immediate vicinity of the cooking shelter. The box is protected with a code. Instructions and the code are sent to you by e-mail after the payment. Take lock de-icer with you just in case the box's lid is stuck due to frost. Metsähallitus does not have maintenance on site.

Facilities

• Two picnic tables, seating for a total of about 20-25 people. The woodshed has an axe, and the storage has a floor brush.

• Heating and lighting: There is no electricity in the cooking shelter.

• Cooking: Fire pit. The renter must bring the necessary utensils and dishes for cooking and dining.

• Drinking water: There is no well in the area. Drinking water must be brought.

• Waste disposal: There are no waste containers by the cabin. Visitors are advised to take their accumulated waste with them.

Other things to keep in mind

• The cooking shelter must be cleaned after use, and all doors must be locked when leaving, and the keys returned to the key box.

• Smoking indoors is prohibited.

• Pets are not allowed in the cooking shelter.

• Bring your own toilet paper.

Instructions for the user of the site

• Each user of the site is responsible for keeping the site clean. The site does not have regular maintenance.

• Please note that Metsähallitus sites are wilderness‑like and modest, and the indoor areas may contain, for example, insects, rodents, and their droppings.
