The hut is a former summer cottage that was renovated in 2004. It is located by Lake Savojärvi in the eastern part of the national park Kuhankuono, next to the nature cabin Kurjenpesä in the same yard. The hut has a kitchen and a meeting room.

Reservations
Creating a user account is worthwhile. As a logged-in customer, you do not need to pay for your reservation immediately. You can also cancel unpaid reservations yourself. Create a user account.
The use of the hut and other structures for business operations requires a permit from Metsähallitus. Learn about transfer of rights of use (metsa.fi).
Kurkela is available for daytime use between 09:00 and 21:00.
The cabin can be booked for the morning from 9:00 to 15:00, for the afternoon from 15:00 to 21:00, or for the whole day from 9:00 to 21:00.

Hut is locating in the eastern part of the national park at Kuhankuono, right next to Kurjenpesä Nature Information Hut.
Yard
In the yard, there is a dry toilet and an accessible cooking shelter.
Keys
The key is in a key code box on the hut wall. The box is protected with a code. Instructions and the code are sent to you by e-mail after the payment. Take lock de-icer with you just in case the box's lid is stuck due to frost. Metsähallitus does not have maintenance on site.

Cooking: Refrigerator and stove. There is tableware for 16 persons.
Drinking water: Drinkable tap water, cold and warm.
Waste disposal: There is a recycling point near the building.
