Trap permit 2026, fish trap (3 traps)

Trap permit is specific to the fishing or boating party, and it is valid for a calendar year.

Catch sizes

• Trout with adipose fin: all sizes of fish must be released

• Trout without adipose fin: at least 50 cm

• Pike-perch: at least 45 cm

For other fish species, fishers must observe the catch sizes specified in the Fishing Decree.

Protection periods

• Trout with adipose fin: 1 January – 31 December

The Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY) for Lapland has made a decision under Section 53 of the Fishing Act to prohibit the retention of trout with adipose fin in the Oulujärvi fisheries region. The decision does not apply to areas referred to in Sections 1 and 2 of the Fishing Decree 1360/2015 that have no migratory connection to Lake Oulujärvi.

For other fish species, fishers must observe the protection periods specified in the Fishing Decree.

There is no fishing quota for this trap permit area.

This trap permit entitles the holder to use 3 traps.

Watercraft

The trap permit contains the right to keep a boat on the multiple-use forest land of Metsähallitus Forestry. You can see this in Excursionmap.fi. If there is a valid plan for the area guiding the storage of boats in a certain location, the boats must be stored in the designated locations. The boat must have its owner's name and contact information on it. The owner is responsible for keeping their boat site clean.
