Restoration work at Kärnänkoski: interruptions in permit sales

Kellankoski, part of the Kolima–Keitele rapids route in Viitasaari, is undergoing restoration starting August 1. Restoration work at Kärnänkoski, which began last autumn, is also continuing. Fishing permits are already being sold for Kellankoski, but Kärnänkoski still has interruptions in permit sales.

Fishing permits for Kärnänkoski will be available for the weekend of August 16–17. Permit sales will be suspended again on Monday, August 18 due to ongoing restoration work. Fishing at Kellankoski continues as normal. The restoration does not affect Kymönkoski, which is also part of the permit area.

The sale of fishing permits for the Kolima–Keitele area has earlier been paused due to high water temperatures. Read more here.
