As of Monday 3 May 2021 at 13:00, you can book reservable huts and rental huts maintained by Metsähallitus Parks & Wildlife Finland for 2022. You can make reservations in the Eräluvat webshop. A small proportion of the huts can be booked at the local nature centre or through our partners.

Metsähallitus Parks & Wildlife Finland maintains approximately 150 reservable huts and rental huts for hikers in national parks, other nature conservation areas and wilderness areas. Reservations for the year 2022 will open on Monday 3 May at 13:00.

Most of the huts can be reserved in the Eräluvat webshop or by calling the service number +358 20 69 2424. A few of the huts can only be booked through nature centres. Some huts can only be booked for whole weeks, but most can also be booked for other times. The most popular huts may also have restrictions on the length of the reservation to make it possible for as many people as possible to enjoy them.

Metsähallitus has updated the terms of reservation for the huts, which must be taken into account when planning a reservation as of 3 May 2021. The new terms of reservation will be updated on the nationalparks.fi website.

In the Nationalparks.fi online service, you can find a description of the types of huts and instructions for making a reservation

If you are considering a reservation, you should visit www.nationalparks.fi/huts to see the types of huts available and for more detailed information on making a reservation.

In addition to reservable and rental huts, hikers are offered free day trip huts and wilderness huts. Day trip huts are meant for hikers to use during daytime, and they are not for staying overnight except for in exceptional circumstances. Wilderness huts are for private persons who are hiking, skiing or otherwise arriving there by means of their own efforts to use as a temporary place of rest or for staying overnight.

Coronavirus guidelines

The up-to-date coronavirus guidelines of Metsähallitus Parks & Wildlife Finland can be found on the nationalparks.fi website. The page will be updated as the instructions are specified based on the coronavirus situation and official guidelines.

Reservable, rental, and wilderness huts remain open in 2021, but in some areas of the country, the maximum capacity of the reservable huts has been reduced for the time being. Metsähallitus recommends that customers go to the nationalparks.fi website to check the situation in the area of their destination before leaving for their trip. Metsähallitus also recommends primarily using your own accommodation during the coronavirus pandemic. Cancelling a hut booking is the customer's responsibility. You can cancel your booking for free and get a full refund before the due date until 31 December 2021. Metsähallitus reserves the right to make changes to the terms and conditions.
